Xerosis Catis Causes Symptoms Treatments


The winter is less and more dear to us all. However, what is most worrying about people this time is that their skin is dry. The common problem with winter is dry skin. Abnormal dry skin is called 'Xerosis Cutis' in medical terms.

It comes from the Greek word 'Xero', which means 'dry'. Dry skin is a very common and temporary problem. It can occur in people of any age; however, it is more commonly seen in the elderly. It can also cause discomfort in the body. Our skin always needs to be smooth and moist but, due to age, it becomes difficult to maintain. However, if you regularly apply moisturizer to your skin properly, it can prevent Xerosis.

Causes of Xerosis cutis
The skin will be dry without moisturizing the skin. Usually, this is due to environmental factors. That is because the skin is dry
a)        Bathing using extra hot water
b)        Bathing very frequently
c)         Living in low humid areas
d)        Living in winter areas
e)        Do not dehydration or drink enough water

Water-based lotions can make Xerosis cutis bitterer than cure your skin. Other medical procedures include

a)        Bath in light hot water
b)        Drinking lots of water
c)         Avoid heat

Essential wells and alloys are popular natural remedies for the treatment of Xerosis, but their effects mostly go unreported. One study suggests avoiding Aloevara in the treatment of Xerosis, as it can make the skin more sensitive. However, coconut oil can retain moisture and relieve itching.
