Increased risk of heart attack and death in winter
Multiple studies confirm that the risk of heart attack in the winter and therefore mortality increases by 50 percent
The risk of heart attack and death
can increase by up to 50 percent in the winter - according to a report
published on a health-related website.
As the temperature drops, the
internal temperature needed for the body becomes difficult to maintain. For
cardiovascular, survivors of cardiovascular problems, it is extremely dangerous
to lose the body temperature.
Because, in
the winter, chest pain can actually begin. Winter is a very risky time for
every person who has had a heart attack or has previously undergone a heart
attack.
Because they are one of the main
symptoms of heart failure.
Doctor at
Venkateswara Hospital, located in Dayarka, New Delhi. Anil Dhal said,
“Increased blood pressure can be the cause of the aggravation of heart problems
in winter. In arid climates, the arteries are compressed and the heart has to
work extra hard to supply blood. During winter, certain levels of protein in
the blood increase, thus increasing the risk of blood clotting in the arteries.
”
"An abnormal decrease in body
temperature is called 'hypothermia' in medical terms, which causes many heart
attacks."
He added “If
the air has various pollutions it is one of the causes for heart attack. In
winter, these contaminants accumulate in the soil, which can lead to chest
inflammation and increase the risk of heart attack. On the other hand, people
become more sluggish in the winter, thus increasing their chances of becoming
frustrated. In these words, the condition is called 'Seasonal Affective
Disorder (SAD).'
"Laziness and frustration
combine to a major cause of the heart attack."
The elderly
and those who have heart problems find it difficult to cope with the stress of
the heart. The result is increased risk of heart attack.
Also,
cholesterol levels fluctuate in winter. Those who are not in control of
diabetes increase their risk of developing heart disease.
President of
the Heart Care Foundation of India (HCFI) KK Agarwal said, “Every heart patient
should have a heart condition and mental stress test in winter. This season can
lead to a sudden heart attack due to irregularities in eating, waking up at
night, not consuming timely drugs and smoking or alcoholism.”
To do
>> Exercise
is always good for health, and for cardiologists it is a must. But it would be
wise not to walk in the freezing cold winter morning. It is better to walk in
the afternoon or evening before the sun goes down.
>> More
time should be spent indoors to keep the body temperature stable. In addition
to other winter clothes, socks should be worn on hands and feet. Have to take a
bath with hot water.
>> Heavy
eating at one time puts an added strain on the heart rate at all ages.
Therefore, healthy foods should be eaten with a small amount a few times. Water
and salt intake levels should be monitored.
>> The
whole family needs to be prepared for any setbacks. Chest discomfort, sweating,
asthma sensation, neck, shoulder or jaw pain, sweat under the feet, etc. cannot
be ignored. Provide constant contact with an expert.
